Educated at Harvard College and earning a B.A. in Psychology and Social Relations, David began his pursuit of healing the whole person. David studied and received a Masters of Acupuncture Degree in 1983 from Maryland University of Integrative Health in Laurel, MD. David is also a licensed and ordained pastor.

In 2002, David and his family moved from Jacksonville, FL to Renton, WA where he established 5 Element Acupuncture Center. Recently he and his family have relocated to Prescott Valley, AZ. In addition, he and his wife, LIsa established One New Man Ministry; Destiny House Restoration Center, a non-profit for victims of human trafficking; and Lisa Mitts Music. David continues to innovate the acupuncture profession by incorporating nutrition, emotional healing, and brain pathway restoration. He developed and trains other doctors in Brain Tuning. Client education and empowerment is at the core of his commitment to healing. David conducts seminars on a regular basis, for both patients and practitioners and always strives to put tools into his clients' hands to facilitate the healing process.
David is a licensed Acupuncture Practitioner L.Ac. and has four children and five grandchildren.
